Our story

The Holiday Haven, written a new chapter

This corner has always been the best spot in Detroit Lakes: the beach and the marina across the street, the fun end of the strip next door. The old motel sitting on it just needed some love. So we bought it and rebuilt it top to bottom: white-wood ceilings, kitchenettes with real ovens, and suites that feel like a lake house.

Fair warning: if you're after a secluded cabin in the pines, that's not us. The Haven is for people who want to rent a pontoon across the street, walk to dinner, close down a patio bar, and still be back on their own patio for sunset.

Questions, answered

How does check-in work?+

Check-in is at 3pm, entirely self-serve. Your welcome email with your personal door code arrives by 1pm on arrival day, once the previous guest has checked out and your suite is ready. No need to stop at the office: pull up to your assigned spot, punch in your code, and you're home.

Can we bring the dog?+

Yes, dogs are welcome for $35 per day, capped at $105 per week on stays longer than three days (the fee resets each additional week). Call (218) 847-5605 before you arrive so your pet is registered; unregistered pets are subject to additional fees. The beach across the street tends to be their favorite part of the trip.
